Private tutor in Delray Beach, FL
Education
Graduated Cornell University with a major in math. Earned a master's degree in meteorology from MIT.
Experience
Over 5,000 hours of tutoring in the past year. SAT scores: math, 796; English, 766. I love helping students who are struggling. I feel I have a unique gift for finding the right approach to each student's problem. I'm patient and supportive, but persistent. I also believe I have a knack for teaching students how to approach the standardized tests like SAT, GED and ASVAB. I approach these as I would a game, and I have always been a very good game player. In fact I was a consultant to a company that developed and marketed games. Besides emphasizing the material that is most-often covered and the approach to multiple-choice questions, I teach some aspects of test preparation that are often ignored: physical conditioning, time management, and even nutrition. I personally practice what I preach, participating in triathlons and eating a healthy diet.
