EducationUniversity of Maine - BA, Music Education
ExperienceI attended the University of Maine, where I graduated summa cum laude in 2012 with a B.A. in Music Education for kindergarten to the twelfth grade. Professionally, I am experienced teaching all age groups within public education as well as preschool students. I am able to tutor a range of subjects, including earth sciences, elementary and middle school mathematics, language arts, English grammar, reading, phonics, essay writing, and music. Within the realm of music, I teach theory, voice, and how to play the clarinet. While I enjoy being privileged enough to teach any subject, my absolute favorite subjects to teach are reading and writing. I believe that creativity is critical to a successful learning process. Students learn using a variety of diverse methods and learning styles, and it is important for the teacher to customize his or her lessons to accommodate the students. There is no room for generic, one-size-fits-all lessons in the classroom.I spend a lot of time establishing relationships with my students so that I am able to pinpoint their weak areas and help them strengthen their shortcomings. When I am not tutoring, I like to hike, watch movies, read books, and sing. I am quite skilled in singing acapella.
