Teacher of Language Arts. In progress of completing Reading Endorsement courses as well a ESOL. I want to be a tutor because I am a lover of helping people better their lives through education, being a teacher I get to do this daily. However, I always want to work one on one with students who are having trouble and in a classroom with 24-28 students it is quite difficult. This is just another avenue in which I can give back and help children who need the extra time and attention. On my SAT's back in the day I got an 1140 when it was out of 1200 and graduated college with a GPA OF 3.8. I am constantly continuing my education and take professional development courses to keep with the times and the ever changing methods in teaching. I plan to go back to school in the near future to start working on my Masters in Speech Language Pathology. It is a high need area, and I have a great desire to work with small groups and improve the lives of children.

Hobbies

Where do I begin. I just moved to Florida a couple of years ago, from Chicago...so the warm weather is key! :) I love the beach and the ocean. I do quite a bit of fishing, fresh water mostly, but salt when I can. I enjoy movies, reading when I get the chance, and watch television for down time. I am a lover of the Everglades and get out there a lot in the winter. I am an animal lover and have had both cats and dogs (but am allergic to cats so I have to be careful :-/) I enjoy helping people. I worked with Literacy Chicago for some time tutoring adults who couldn't read at all, or were beginning readers. I found that to be very rewarding and I like to relax. Enjoy time with my family, friends, and of course, there is Yoga!
