Experience
I have worked as a teaching assistant and tutor at Palm Beach State College and as a private tutor for the last 6 years. I thoroughly enjoy every aspect of my job. I have the duel unique pleasure of working in a field I love and being in a position to help others, which is very gratifying. I have previously worked as a substitute math teacher in local middle and high schools giving me experience with students of all ages and abilities. I pride myself on being able to communicate with students in the manner to which they are most comfortable. I make every effort to demonstrate various methods of solving problems while focusing on critical thinking skills that will benefit the student throughout their academic and professional careers. I try to use the same terminology as a student’s instructor in an effort to minimize confusion. I also will use various ways to simplify complex formulas into a form easy to remember. I tutor most math courses from prealgebra through calculus 1. The courses that I teach/tutor the most are algebra 1 and 2 (intermediate algebra and college algebra), survey (methods) of calculus, introductory statistics, and trigonometry. I frequently tutor geometry as well. Outside of the classroom, I am a father of 2 sons and enjoy sports, travel, and history.

Hobbies
I am a very easy going guy who can get along well with anyone. I have passed several background checks and drug tests to maintain my status in the schools. I like to use various math software programs to supplement the learning process. I have two sons who mean the world to me. As a parent myself, I do not meet high school or younger students in their homes without a parent present. As I get to know the student and the parent(s), that rule is somewhat flexible and I likely would be ok with an older sibling present in the home during the tutoring sessions. I have left my cell phone number listed so feel free to text message me or call. Please leave a message if I don't answer as my ringer is silenced while working.
